Rare Antique Sailing Ship Pocket Sundial Pendant Fob “Tempus Rerum Imperator”

Description

This is a stunning rare antique collectors item. This pocket sundial shows a sailing ship and sun in open work on the front and opens to reveal a working sundial.  The back is engraved in latin “Tempus Rerum Imperator” which translates to Time, commander of all things.

Originally a watch fob, now worn as a pendant and a reminder of the importance of time and living in the present moment.

Pendant is approximately 1.25″ in tall.

I love to call these antique pieces “perfectly imperfect”- they have passed through many hands and many lives and bear the marks of such adventures.

I am fascinated with jewelry from the past- particularly lockets and fobs. These items were worn every day and held so much meaning to their owners. I am pleased to pass them on to a new life- to be cherished once again.
